Large-scale hospitality facilities face significant operational hurdles when managing wastewater, particularly with fluctuating seasonal volumes. The Voi Hotel addressed this by implementing a treatment system for domestic wastewater from restrooms, laundry, and kitchens prior to its discharge into the public sewer system.

The technical objective was twofold: ensuring total compliance with discharge regulations while maintaining a compact, automated footprint suitable for varying loads.

A technical configuration for variable loads

The solution manages a maximum daily flow of 300 cubic meters. The process follows a logical sequence of progressive refinement:

  • pre-treatment and equalization: wastewater enters a screening section to remove coarse materials. A subsequent equalization tank homogenizes the flow and organic load to stabilize the biological treatment.
  • biological stage: the system's core is the oxidation treatment. Air injection allows bacteria to degrade organic matter present in the water.

  • clarification and filtration: following sedimentation to separate biological sludge , the effluent is processed by the plus ultra clarifier filter FCPU 140x150 33p .

  • purity standards: utilizing a filtration degree of 1 micron (1 mcr), the system captures even the smallest suspended solid particles.

To ensure the water is microbiologically safe, the effluent passes through carbon filters and a series of uv lamps before being stored in a final tank.

Automation and remote monitoring 4.0

Operational continuity is maintained via a control panel equipped with a PLC and HMI interface. This architecture allows technical staff to oversee parameters remotely via a network connection, simplifying day-to-day management. Site security is supported by dedicated cameras monitoring the perimeter to prevent external interference with the purification process.

Biological sludge is managed directly on-site. Using a dedicated belt press, residues are dehydrated, significantly reducing volume for easier disposal.

From waste to irrigation resource

The final output converts a regulatory requirement into a water efficiency opportunity. The high quality of the treated water allows for complete reuse in the irrigation of the entire resort. This reduces the withdrawal of primary water resources and improves the overall environmental footprint.
